NO LANYARDS MADE HERE! The Oxbow art camp offers youth ages 13 to 16 year-olds a chance to explore a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, installation and digital & darkroom photography while receiving inspiration, guidance, and support. Unlike some ideas about art camps, we don't do busy craft projects. Staff are professional artists and teachers. After learning fundamentals in each media in our state-of-the-art studios, students design a large project in the medium of their choice. They are encouraged to seek their own personal expression, take risks, learn at their own pace and broaden their horizons. They learn, not only HOW to make art, but also WHY to make art. Our goal is to nurture creativity, develop self-confidence & enhance art skills in a non-competitive, safe, fun environment with fellow like-hearted art "geeks". What could be more FUN! No prior experience, talent or portfolio needed… just a desire to jump in, try new things and see what happens.
